#‎Boogienights‬ ‪#‎shootingscript‬ has arrived. I'm in heaven. Reading a shooting script by a director such as Paul Thomas Anderson, who relies heavily on advanced and tricky technical camera work is a gift as a screenwriter and director. So eye opening on how essential the role of the camera is in feature screenwriting, story telling and narrative. He also discusses the influence of films like Goodfellas; who's director of photography, Michael Ballhaus, came up with impressive continuous stedicam shots, such as the copacabana entrance shot in Goodfellas; under the direction of Martin Scorsese, as well as his usage of 360 shots and complicated rack and follow focus. This influence can be seen in the opening shot of @Boogie nights, and is evident throughout the photography of the film.
